During the late evening hours on Sunday, Charlie was moved from ICU into a private room.  He spent Monday in that private room and was discharged from the hospital during the evening hours.

Charlie is home and doing well.

On Wed, Jan. 17, Angela and Charlie headed to New Orleans.  He was to be there by 8:30 AM for admitting, pre-op testing and to prepare for by-pass surgery on Thursday morning.  Everything went as scheduled and test results were good.  They were notified that he would be leaving his room around 5AM, on Thursday, and heading for the 7:30AM scheduled surgery.  His children and siblings made arrangements to be there prior to his heading for surgery.

The surgery was successful and everything went well.  The surgeon advised them that he would remain in ICU for 2-3 days for the recovery process.  There was a minor set abck during Saturday which caused us a little concern.  The heart rhythm became abnormal and the blood pressure became elevated.  The staff advised the family that this was not uncommon.  The following day, those readings were better.

On Sunday, Charlie was moved into a private room.  The recovery continues to go well.

A great big thank you to all who joined me in prayer!

Wow! 2007!

2006; what a year! I cannot say that it has been the easiest or the best of my life. In it came much difficulty and sadness. But, because of the faith that I have in God, many learning experiences came from that sadness and difficulty. I guess the most important learning that happened was within myself and about myself. I have learned what things are important to me, what things I have the most difficulty tolerating, what things I'd hoped to accomplish and haven't, and what things I continue to hope in.

May the new year bring to all of us new blessings for which we can be forever grateful to Our Lord.
